Iran Vice-President for women and affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar has contracted coronavirus.
The Minister’s diagnosis came two days after the country’s deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi tested positive to the same virus.
Harirchi had on Monday denied covering up the scale of the outbreak, he appeared discomfort as he spoke to reporters.
He also attended an interview at a tv station where he could be seen coughing and looking fray.
Meanwhile, Ebtekar is the English-language spokeswoman “Mary” for the 1979 hostage-takers who seized the US embassy in Tehran and sparked a 444-day diplomatic crisis.
The country is now the fourth-highest number of cases in the world with Coronavirus after China.
So far, Iran has 26 deaths out of the 245 confirmed coronavirus cases.
The country has cancelled Friday prayers while officials advised residents to avoid travels within the country in a move to curtail the widespread.
It also banned Chinese citizens from entering the country.
