The angry members took to the street of Akure yesterday to protest the handling and alleged imposition of candidates by the leadership of the party.

This is coming as the NWC on Tuesday granted an automatic ticket to some Senators of the State – Yele Omogunwa (Ondo South), Tayo Alasoadura (Ondo Central) and Ajayi Boroffice (Ondo North).

The action was protested by the Senatorial aspirant and members of the state executive.

Protests were reported at Owo, Ore towns and the popular Oba Adesida simultaneously.

The dissatisfied protesters said they had passed a vote of no confidence on the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, alleging that his administration has failed party members across the country.

The protesters also demanded his resignation for what they described as incompetence.

The different inscription on their placards was “Allow us to choose our leaders’, ‘Oshiomhole is a thief, Tinubu is a thief”, ‘We say no to Imposition’, Ondo State will neer allow Tinubu and Oshiomhole to destroy APC’

The APC Youth LeaderOlutayo Babalayo who addressed the Press at the scene of the protest said the state will never allow the imposition of candidates.

Babalayo said, “We say no to imposition. We say no to an automatic ticket to any aspirant. We ask for change and this is not the change we asked for.

“When Adams Oshiomhole took the leadership from Oyegun we thought everything would change for good, but things are worse. Oshiomhole has not really helped us.”

While the members were protesting in the State, the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun was at the Presidential Villa complaining to President Muhammadu Buhari on how NWC handled his primary.
