The Medical Director of Central Hospital, Benin City and former Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Edo State branch, Dr Philip Ugbodaga has congratulated the leadership and members of unions in the hospital on the commemoration of 2019 Worker’s Day.
The Medical Director made the remarks in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mrs Sandra Omoregbe.
Dr Ugbodaga said that despite the challenges faced by workers in the hospital, he could attest that they were giving there best. In his words, “Your dedication to work, your commitment and your emphatic disposition to patients is unparalleled. I feel honoured to be the Medical Director of the hospital at this point when the commitment of staff to work is at its nadir”.
While noting that no society could develop without a productive workforce, the Medical Director thanked the hospital workers for their sacrifices and contributions to the growth of the institution. “I owe my modest achievements in my ongoing tenure as the Medical Director of the hospital to the support and cooperation of all staff of the hospital.
“We have improved immunization services to children in line with Edo State government vision, reduced maternal mortality and under-5 mortality, secured accreditation from the relevant postgraduate medical colleges to continue to train specialists in Family Medicine and Dentistry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, optimized emergency services and giving well coordinated care to patients with HIV/AIDS”
In the statement, the Medical Director further urged all staff to continue to soar higher and support all Edo State government policies and programmes in the spirit of “
