NAIJA CENTER NEWS REPORTER visited Nigerian Embassy in Sri Lanka on Wednesday only to discover that the Embassy was totally locked down, meanwhile the gate man was having his nap on duty.
it took us more than 10 minutes to hit the gate before he finally woke up. At first, he woke up, cleaned his mouth and slept again. At this time, we were waiting for him to open the gate but the reverse was the case.
Nigerian Embassy was opened in 2012. The ambassador submitted his document to the president of Sri Lanka, Mr. Rajapaksa in Semptember 2012. The Ambassador, Mr. F. A. Rotimi revealed to NAIJA CENTER NEWS (NCN) during our previous visit that he came to Sri Lanka in August. As we speak, the Embassy has three employees; The Ambassador, the P.A and the sleeping Security Officer.
The Embassy as at now has no single sign of Nigeria. There is no Nigerian flag nor any other things to indicate a Nigerian embassy. There are speculations that the building is a temporary place but does this stop the Embassy from standing a Nigerian flag to indicate its present location?
