Obaseki Pays Airhiavbere Condolence Visit

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki paid a condolence visit to a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Maj-Gen Charles Airhiavbere over the demise of his mother.
The governor visited the residence on Thursday afternoon.
Speaking with journalists, Obaseki said he was there beyond politics, adding that they are one big family.
He also said that Arihiavbere showed him a text that his (The General) mother sent to him before her death.
“I am here to commiserate with my brother, General Charles Airhiavbere on the passing of his very illustrious mother, she was a mother to all of us,” Obaseki told journalists.
The governor described the late Mrs Arhiavbere as “a very loving courageous mother”.
“He just showed me something, I cannot share it with you, one of her last texts to him about me, so I feel quite emotional because in Benin, we are one big family.
“Beyond and before politics, we are family and that’s what is more important”
In his response, General Airhiavbere described Obaseki as a man with a big heart.
He said “That he is here, showed solidarity within the family beyond politics and I am so happy. In fact, this is a very big surprise and I can tell you, the governor is a man with a large heart”
