EDO VOTES: Obaseki’s Re-election Bid Receives Boost As More APC members join PDP

The re-election bid of GOVERNOR Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, yesterday, received a major boost as hundreds of opposition’s Party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, Members in Ikpoba Okha Local Government joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the September 19, 2020, Gubernatorial Election.

Governor Obaseki who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, welcomed over 3,000 decampees from the All Progressive Congress, to the campaign team of the Ruling Party in the State.

Speaking at the Inauguration/Flag-off Ceremony of the Ikpoba Okha LGA campaign council of Friday, the Party’s Council Chairman, Hon. Friday Aiwumuagbonrie who received the decampees expressed optimisms that the team will deliver on the mandate before them.

He Charged the new members, of the party to work harmoniously with other members in delivering the campaign messages for the re-election of the Governor for another 4-year ternure in office to the grassroot.

The Council Party Chairman,, Aiwumuagbonrie, who noted that, by their convinctions to join the campaign team, it’s a proof that, the Governor’s landmark achievements in the last three and a half years in office Speaks for itself.

Hon. Aiwumuagbonrie, however, presented the APC and other party decampees to the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

He was represented by the Managing Director, Edo Development and Property Agency, EDPA, Isoken Omo

Addressing the large crowd of decampees, Obaseki charged them to remain steadfast as their new political home marks a watershed in Godwin Obaseki’s victory in the forthcoming poll

According to the Governor, “I implore you to remain strong and committed to the cause of “Making Edo Great Again. I welcome everyone from Wards 1 to 10 who have seen our works and chose to identify with the PDP. there is so much more to be done and together we shall actualize the dream of making our State better for us all”

Continuing, the Governor urged the new members to, “fall back” to their Wards and work hand-in-hand with the existing executive to achieve the ultimate goal of re-electing Gov. Godwin Obaseki and Comrade Philip Shaibu

Meanwhile, 29-member- Campaign-Council-Committee was set up to ensure Victory in Ikpoba-Okha LGA for the PDP.

Hon. Nicholas Asonsere, emerged the Director General, while, Hon. Lewis Osayande is the Deputy Director General.

Hon Richard Obayando is the Chairman of the Campaign Council and Festus Imarhiagbe, Secretary.

Other Members of the council are, Hon. Scott Osagiede, Hon. Jude Ise-Idehen, Chief Dan Osabuohien, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, Prof. Dennis Agbonlahor, Pst. Kennedy Osifo, Dr. Eric Osayande, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Hon. Erimona Edorodion, Isoken Omo

Also in the list are, Ernest Amadasun, Osamede Arasomwan, Hon. Best Imade, Hon. Matthew Ikhide, Hon. Friday Erhauyi, Osawaru Eric Sino, Vincent Okoro, Sunday Ade Aigheyisi, Tina Esele, Hon. Felix Ohen, Rev. Austin Uhwuangho, and Omosefe Samuel

Charles Osayi, Esohe Igiede Ahamiojie, Efe Ekomoba, Chief William Asonmwonriri, Hon. Elvis Igbinovia and Hon. Harrisson Esemuede also made the list of members of the PDP Ikpoba-Okha LGA campaign council.

While inaugurating the campaign council Committee, he urged them to stay focused on achieving the goal ahead.

Aiwumuagbonrie, said, “by the powers vested in me, I hereby inaugurate this Council for Godwin Obaseki’s re-election, the task before you is a decisive one between light and darkness, godfather and God the father, I believe that you care for the overall interests of Ikpoba-Okha people in particular and Edo people in general, hence your interest to serve in this committee; go and succeed”

Responding to the task, the Director-General of the Campaign Council Committee, Hon Nicholas Asonsere harped on delivering on the Obaseki’s re-election project while thanking the party for selecting the best hands for the mission.

He vowed to constitute various sub-committees and their members in no distance time.
