I’m Not A Hypocrite – Ex-Buhari’s Supporter
Hamma Hayatu, a northern supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari has suddenly poured accolades on an ex-President he once heavily criticized.
Hayatu had on 10 March 2015 tweeted that Goodluck Jonathan did not build any school, including the popular Almajris in the north.
His several criticisms came when he was supporting Buhari.
“I just watch watched a documentary on Liberty TV which shows that the much-publicized Almajris schools are just whitewash and a fraud.”
On the 29th of April, 2015, he tweeted “In the whole of Kaduna state the only visible Almajiri school built by the GEJ govt is located along Zaria-Kano road.”
However, in 2018, his support shifted to the same Jonathan he claimed didn’t do anything in the north.
“GEJ built 9 federal universities in northern Nigeria, GEJ built 150 Almajiris schools in northern Nigeria, GEJ built the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. We are very grateful @GEJonathan to what you have done to our people,” he said.
A few days ago, 23 February 20, Hayuna tweeted “Goodluck Jonathan built several Almajiri schools across northern Nigeria, where they will be educated, fed and cloth by government and the teachers paid salaries. Out of political bitterness, this laudable project was abandoned and schools are fallowing now. Buhari is a menace.”
The bittered ex-supporter added ” I was a Buharist 2003-2017, spent hard-earned money for him, printed posters, paid polling agent and we succeeded in 2015, apparently he was never ready, took him months to have a cabinet, led us into a recession, various policies somersaults and I stopped deceiving my self 2017 “
On Monday, a twitter user, Adetutu Balogun dug up Hayatu’s tweets in 2015.
Criticizing the former Buhari’s supporter, Balogun said “Before the 2015 election, Arewa Twitter spread lies that GEJ didn’t build 100+ Almajari schools. After Buhari disappointed them many changed their lyrics & joined @OfficialPDPNig They knew about the schools before the election but they lied! Many on this street have no conscience.”
Reacting, Hayatu said “Madam let be very blunt to you I have never been a hypocrite and I will not be one and I have never been a Gejite and still not one, though I have my respect for him. Those tweets you quoted I still stand by them, I saw a documentary on @LibertyTVNews and I commented”
