Mr Omoyele Sowore detained by the Department of the State Service (DSS) is fighting back over his detention.

Sowore, 48, was arrested by the DSS in the early hour of Saturday in Lagos over his planned protest which was supposed to hold on Monday the 5th of May.

The protest tagged RevolutionNow was to challenge the government to act decisively on the insecurity in the country and bad governance.

The DSS had filed a motion to allow it detain the activist for 90 days but was granted 45 days by the Federal High Court.

The founder of Sahara Reporters online Newspaper who contested the 2019 Presidential election has filed a motion through his lawyer, Femi Falana, asking the Court of Appeal to direct a vacation of the remand order and discharge him of all allegation against him.

The AAC former candidate raised 19 points, arguing that the motion violates his fundamental human rights, as well as the rule of the court.

Mr Sowore has also argued that the order contravenes the provisions of the constitution and was only made to legalise his “illegal” detention.
